UNION
SQUARE HUNT
HOW
IT WORKS: This is an walking scavenger hunt for Union Square
and Yerba Buena Gardens. You'll need about 2 hours minimum for this
hunt (unless you remove some challenges).
Your group will be divided into teams of up
to 10 people. Each team will receive a collection bag (knapsack,
duffle bag or even a plastic shopping bag will do) containing
a digital
camera, their challenge sheet - the hunt itself - and various
supplies. They will then embark on the scavenger hunt, taking pictures,
obtaining specific items, completing a creative project and a San
Francisco trivia quiz - all worth valuable points. There will
also be team meets where team members will move to other teams and additional
challenges will be given to everyone. At the conclusion of the hunt,
the teams will present a creative and inspiring debriefing of their team
effort (or you can "grade" their clue sheets
to find the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners).
EXAMPLES: Scavenger hunt
challenges are broken down into the following categories: 20 picture
challenges, 14 collection challenges, a mini San Francisco trivia
quiz (8 questions), a fun and creative project and a final team presentation
(optional).
- Take a picture of your entire team looking wicked and naughty (use
your imaginations!) on what was known during the Barbary Coast
era as “the wickedest street on earth”. Where are you
and why did the street have such a reputation?
- Collect an item to prove you visited the Union Square bar with
the red velvet couches, gilt-colored walls, cherubic women dancing
on the ceiling and extravagant chandeliers. Their specialty drinks
include Yellow Snow, Candy Cane and Strawberry Shortcake. And
they only accept cash. This is a very specific location – no
creative substitutions here.
- Trivia quiz question: What Francis Ford Coppola movie was filmed
in the central plaza on Union Square and in what year was it filmed?

NORTH
BEACH HUNT
Coming Soon!
Need help with your San
Francisco team building scavenger hunt? Hire Susan Haley, game designer
& experienced facilitator.
Here's
how our partnership option works: You
buy this San Francisco hunt for $49.95. The kit contains almost
everything you need including a step by step facilitator guide.
You'd need to purchase cameras,
collection bags/carryalls and other small items (like
clipboards and pens). Here's where the partnership
comes in: You hire Susan Haley from Haley Productions
to run the hunt itself. She would arrive about 30 minutes or
so before the scheduled start time to go over everything with
you. She'd then run the entire hunt from start to finish (this
includes the grading process, awards presentation and optional
debrief at the conclusion of the hunt). You'd still need
to prep the hunt (shop for supplies,
edit the hunt as needed for your group, print the materials,
pack the collection bags, etc.). You
can either co-facilitate or you can participate in the hunt
on one of the teams - your choice*.
Essentially, you prep it, Susan runs it. *This
option is best for 3 teams or less. If you have more teams
you'll need to provide additional support to assist Susan (we
generally recommend one facilitator for every 2-3 teams).
Partnership Fee: The $49.95 cost of the kit
plus a $500.00 facilitator fee. Contact Haley
Productions to book a date now.
